DCCWC uses faith-integrated therapy and Christ-centered coping mechanisms for its clients. For those dealing with trauma, stress, abuse, and crises, DCCWC employs five approaches to Christian counseling. These approaches offer a ray of hope by utilizing the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as evidence-based and culturally informed interventions, assessments, prevention, training, and research practices. The focus is on the healthy aspects and strengths of clients through individual, couples, family, and group sessions.
This approach recognizes different levels of explanation for human behavior, such as biological, psychological, social, and spiritual.
This approach attempts to integrate insights from psychology and theology into a coherent framework for counseling.
This approach draws on the Christian tradition and scripture to develop distinctively Christian psychology and counseling practices.
This approach focuses on the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and the gospel in counseling.
This approach relies on the authority and sufficiency of the Bible as the primary source of guidance and instruction for counseling.
Spiritual strength is the relationship with God that drives us to make sacrifices for others, our nation, and the greater good. It is a part of faith, heritage, experiences within our community, the influence of role models, and spiritual inspiration.
Physical wellness includes expanding your knowledge about your lifestyle and understanding how factors such as food, good nutrition, and physical activities like yoga, massage therapy, and exercise can be integral to your overall well-being.
Emotional wellness refers to building an awareness of and accepting one's internal feelings and moods, understanding triggers that bring about negative emotions, and finding ways to encourage positive thinking and self-acceptance. This includes using positive affirmations and coping skills.
Social wellness entails being cognizant of the impact you and your actions have on your family, community, society, and nature.
